This new residence was constructed within the coveted neighborhood of Nashawtuc Hill. The buildings orientation and glazing work to balance the competing goals of optimizing solar gain and addressing long southern views of open conservation land. The house utilizes a super insulated envelope to reduce energy demands. We installed a geo-thermal heating system with first stage radiant and solar domestic hot water panels. Energy costs were further reduced through the use of LED lighting with a Lutron Smart Lighting control package and automated room darkening shades. The pool is heated with a hot waters solar panel array. Marvin Ultimate windows were chosen for their superior insulation and clad frame construction. Windows & doors were supplied by
